Low Milk Supply Support

Worried You Aren't Making Enough Milk?

Many parents worry about milk supply. Sometimes supply is normal and reassurance is all that's needed. Other times there is an underlying cause that deserves careful evaluation.

If you're supplementing more than expected, pumping less milk than you'd hoped, concerned about weight gain, or exhausted from triple feeding, I can help.

Signs of Low Milk Supply

  • Poor weight gain

  • Low pump output

  • Needing frequent supplementation

  • Few wet or dirty diapers

  • Baby seems unsatisfied after feeds

  • Milk production decreased after returning to work

Not all of these signs mean you have low milk supply. A feeding assessment can help determine what's really going on.

Common Causes

Low milk supply may be related to:

  • PCOS/PMOS

  • Thyroid disorders

  • Insulin resistance

  • Low glandular tissue

  • Previous breast surgery

  • Poor milk transfer

  • Tongue function concerns

  • Pumping or flange fit problems

  • Prematurity or NICU stay

How I Can Help

During your visit, we'll identify possible causes and create a plan that supports your feeding goals. Your consultation may include:

  • Feeding assessment

  • Weighted feed

  • Latch evaluation

  • Pumping assessment

  • Flange sizing

  • Individualized feeding plan

My goal is to help you understand why supply may be low and develop a realistic plan for moving forward.
