Private Prenatal Breastfeeding Class in Lafayette, Colorado
A two-hour, one-on-one prenatal lactation consultation with Ana Grantham, RN, IBCLC — often fully covered by insurance.
Most prenatal breastfeeding classes are group sessions that cost $50 to $100 out of pocket. This one is private, runs two hours, and is built around your health history, your goals, and your specific questions. For families with United Healthcare, Aetna, Cigna, or Colorado Medicaid, it's frequently covered in full.

What Makes This Different
Most parents take a childbirth class and a newborn care class, then arrive at the hospital still unsure about feeding. Group classes have to teach to the middle of the room. This one doesn't.
Because it's one-on-one, we can spend the time where you actually need it. If you have PCOS or a history of breast surgery, we'll talk through what that means for milk production. If your last baby's feeding didn't go the way you hoped, we'll look at what happened and plan around it. If you're already worried about returning to work, we'll build the pumping plan now instead of at six weeks postpartum when you're exhausted.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this covered by insurance? Often, yes — fully. Coverage depends on your plan, and I'm glad to verify your benefits before you book.
Is this a group class? No. Every consultation is private and personalized to your history and goals.
Can my partner attend? Yes, and I'd encourage it. Partners, co-parents, and support people are welcome.
When should I schedule? Most families come in between 28 and 36 weeks. Earlier or later appointments are welcome.
How is this different from the class at my hospital? Hospital classes are group sessions covering general information. This is two hours of one-on-one time built around your specific health history, risk factors, and questions — and it's usually covered by insurance, where group classes typically aren't.
Do you also see families after the baby arrives? Yes. Many families do a prenatal consultation and then have postpartum support already in place if they need it.
